Welcome to

United Field and Retrieving

Hello Members and Friends,

The difficult decision has been reached to postpone our SSAA WGAA 2021 Multi-Level Championship that was scheduled to be held on the 3rd to the 5th September 2021.

This decision was reached by our organisation after a great deal of consideration of the current COVID situation within Australia. The health and wellbeing of all of our members will always be our main focus.

As some States throughout Australia continue to be subject to lockdowns, quarantine regulations and border closure restrictions, we felt that this may have affected a number of competitors ability to participate in the Championship.

Hopefully the rescheduled date of the 30th April 2022 to the 2nd May 2022, will allow members to participate without restrictions.

Please check our Websites……. & FaceBook page to follow our upcoming events.

Thanks Jim

SSAA Working Gundogs

A gundog's natural instinct is to retrieve. Retrieving Trials provide a perfect avenue for these dogs to express their natural abilities, have fun and exercise.

Our sport simulates hunting conditions where the dogs ability to retrieve is tested over various terrain and conditions commonly found in hunting scenarios. The dogs retrieve Dokken Dead Fowl Trainers (artificial game) in varied areas including dams, creeks, thick marsh or sparse paddocks. Because a gundog's natural instinct is to retrieve, they revel in the challenge of finding the artificial game. Our sport not only provides a great form of exercise, for these dogs, but also provides great stimulation.

We strive to make our competitions a friendly and social environment where our competitors can not only compete whilst having fun with their canine companions, but also enjoy the comradery and friendships that develop with people of similar interests.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to the UFR Website and we'll see you at our next UFR Trial.

The aim of a retrieving trial is to test gundogs under conditions as close as possible to those in natural field shooting. Artificial game is used in SSAA retrieving trials for the retrieve.

The 2017 and 2019 Championships were a great success, our 2021 event looks to be even bigger.
