Do Retrieving Trials held under the SSAA involve the use of live game?
ANSWER - No, Retrieving Trials held under the SSAA do not involve the use of live game. Our trials are held using Dokken Dead Fowl Trainers which are artificial game used to test the dogs retrieving abilities.

QUESTION?
Do competing gundogs need to have pedigree papers to participate in SSAA Retrieving Trials?
ANSWER - No, as the SSAA United Field and Retrieving Branch is not governed by the Canine Control Counil of Qld or the Australian National Kennel Association, gundogs competing in our competitions do not require pedigree papers.

Do I need to be a member of the Canine Control Council of Qld to participate in SSAA Retrieving Trials?
ANSWER - No, you are only required to be a member of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia and SSAA United Field and Retrieving Branch.

Am I insured at SSAA events?
ANSWER - Yes, SSAA hold current insurances that cover you for all activities held at our events.

QUESTION?
Do I need to hold a gun licence to participate in SSAA Retrieving Trials?
ANSWER - No, Our shotguns do not hold live rounds, and are altered to only shoot primers which make the sound of a live round being shot.
